Szczecin basis for detailed work on online platform

Last week the BalticMuseums 2.0 team met in Szczecin to jointly work on the projects components. A special focus during this meeting organized by the University of Szczecin was directed to the Online Information Platform. While the technical system is now in place, the content needs to be translated in all partner languages.

With a joint effort a process for the coming weeks was installed. Additional very useful means and applications were demonstrated and shall be integrated in the platform before the release date. A virtual museum presentation, demonstrated by the team from the University of Szczecin, fascinated all participants. This virtual galley will be realized for the museums during the coming weeks.
Dr. Timo Moritz, Ichthyological Curator of the German Oceanographic Museum, presented a tool that enables non-specialists to identify species. This application has great potential for education purposes. The multi-lingual ticketing system was decided to be integrated in the online platform and the release date is projected being early summer 2011.
The eGuide prototype will be further developed with a demo tour focussed on indoor use for Gdynia Aquarium. It will be realized in the coming months and presented in February during the next project meeting.
